There's lots of things happening.

Firstly,

it's Lung Cancer Awareness Month and if you're someone who hasn't been touched by this awful cancer - be it through personal experience or through a loved one - you're in the minority and I'm really happy for you. Too many folks haven't been as lucky. Follow LadyLincoln and her group LungCancer-Awareness to learn more and for the added benefit of her wonderful friendship. She's also featuring folks who show some love and light to the subject so have your art seen by some new eyes, eh? Yeah.

Read this for more info:

Also firstly,

because it's as important right now: LiliWrites is hosting her Birthday Contest on the theme of Helpers and it's everything we all need right now. Leave it to Lili to deliver us the feel-goods, right? Right.

Read all about it here:

Both of these are for the month of November only, so get your gorgeous selves busy.

Secondly,

but split three ways: I'm an editor and I would like to see y'all submit to the journals I work at, ya know, if you're into publishing. I mean, I can't promise anything, but I like the idea of spreading art all over the place, so blah blah blah...this is where I'm at and what we're doing:

Arrow left  I'm the poetry editor at cahoodaloodaling and we're currently reading for our "Queer Spaces" issue. You can read more about it here. But basically, if you fall anywhere under the queer umbrella and have any kind of art, we're down to give it a gander. Just follow the guidelines, which are listed neatly on our site.

Arrow left I just joined up as one of several editors over at Screen Door Review and we're reading for our first issue, due out in March (I think). Read what we're looking for here. We're a little more specific in that we're always looking for queer writers and those writers must either be southern or must have at least lived in the US South for long enough to feel like one of us. Otherwise, read the guidelines and if you fit, then submit. We're trying to amplify this specific bracket of folks, because let's face it: the south isn't kind to our kind.

Arrow left  And lastly, but still secondly because I think numbering is weird: I was recently invited to join Hobo Camp Review as an associate editor. I'm mostly just gonna be doing reviews and interviews; I probably won't make any major editorial decisions unless the managing editor is on the fence. But still, it's a damn good publication and one that's more open to the general pool of writers. Read what it's about here and come sit with us by our metaphorical fire.

That's all, y'all. :blowkiss:
