languishI can't sleep;

you're hiding in the balance, slipping,
bracing yourself against walls we used to [dis]cover the hidden,
and sinking into the masonry we formed our pacts from.

I can't sleep;

you're a chalk outline, fading into the fog of my breath,
stumbling on the cracked sidewalks I add between us,
and leaving nothing more than photos in my memory.

I can't sleep;

you're time, ticking away,
clouds that roll in on cold winds,
and rains that push daisies between my toes.

I can't sleep;

you're my lovely day, broken,
because you didn't want to hear about my smiles,
and never knew of the tears I kept from falling,
or the 24 hours t
Love ProsetryI am living a lost life, caught somewhere in-between a field of dreams and a den of nightmares.  Something awful has happened, something beautiful.   The collision of the two has left me speechless, drifting in a semi-state of silent insanity and wordless wonder.

Expression dripped elsewhere in the absence of speech.  I made a decision. I took a giant silent step.

I wrote something for you today. But…I decided your eyes will never see the words.  I doubt you would find fault with the style, flow or meter; they glide like an eagle soaring on the thermals, smooth and majestic and pleasing.
Everlasting       While Night's smile lingers,
    as he pursues the moon nestled deep within the sparkling sky-
                place your dreams in a kiss upon your hand and whisper them softly skyward.
    Waiting, I shall catch them with my smile and hide them within my heart,
           keeping them warm with the breath of my erratic heartbeat.
       But, as only the best things do, it will only last as long as forever.
       Forever is all I have to offer.
      While the distance between us and Forever creeps steadily forward,
  I will gently descend into your silence and know;
           your desires, I will fulfill.
        
I am a Hearta dichotomy of existence.
fragile and yet power filled;
breath fueling while stimulating life
defined by more than physiology, beyond biology.

life and death dividing,
pierce me with metal or word, and I bleed.
the ultimate unseen witness to each thought and every action.
broken, still healing in fused pieces the world leaves behind.
I am a heart.

worn for the world to see,
I shine from behind a child's eyes,
cherish lovers with passion's kiss
and comfortably wrap friendship with love.

I am more than a muscle, my numbered days unknown.
I take in all you see, that which you embrace,
and hold tomorrows aspirations safe in this dark mysteri
sweet companion
                        
I grasp the fleeting fingers                                      

     of solitude
                           
  in a desperate tenuous grasp
    
Splendid...
resist the inclination to offer muted design.
commit your vibrant beautiful stasis
and
I will gorge and drown,
dying in an effervescent
wave of exquisite
splendor.

Without Grace~February 1998~

Both of my hands rest on the gentle swell of my abdomen. Standing in front of the window above the sink, I draw invisible magic circles on the skin over the baby girl nestled inside my expanding body.  I stare out the window at nothing, while a tiny smile plays upon my lips.  My eyes may not see, but my imagination is in full swing; I am dreaming wide awake.   It is a parent's natural inclination.  I see puppies, ribbons and lace, school buses, tears, phones, boys, books and hands clasped with matching gold bands.

We are close, she and I. We share the same breath, the same nourishment. She startles when I do and she doesn't
The WorkersTheir happiness was amputated upon waking,

before the first fibres of sunlight trickled across
the cities early morning traffic,

at the bus stop the flesh carved robots wait,
stone faced, briefcase-anchored
with black and grey suits they stare so straight

                          unblinking,

                                 
forming neat mechanical rows
RestlessWhatever it is
that makes you tick
keeps me up at night..

shreds the sheets
like some dirty uniform
at stiff attention -

Restless..
that's how you have me
Wide-awake
like there is more to say
and no way to say it

Unless..

Take me home with you ~
I want to live under your bed..
the someone in the dark;
the spirit beneath your feet..
a secret moan
of crawls
in the empty spaces
between your mattress
and those punched-out pillows -

Restless..
I yearn to make a mess of your floorboards
and be the ~soft~ air
that creeps past the nape of your neck..

the whisper of womanly sighs
as I enter your mouth
in a 'hush'
and watch

I foolishly asked for prompts from everybody in the free world....or uh...anyone that took my poll. I had to pull a prompt from dear Katie, but she gave me this:

"Gimlet Bobble was a very little man who lived under a
raspberry bush at the corner of Sunset Meadow and Deep Woods."

Ok. thx Katie for givin the Fuzz such a cool prompt and so promptly too!!
This was fun to read, rhyme, sing-a-long in thyme, on time, any time, time and time again, timeless.
But it was about Starky & Gimlet which was like a TV show in the 70's or sometime me thinks? :hmm:, but I digress, so yeah I wanna know more about these two. Like how did Gimlet get 'ta livin in a tin can? Plus mostly all the details of their neighborly exploits together. Does Starky live under a tin can too or does he live in a cast away shoe?
Inquiring minds want to know. ;p I'll be looking for the further adventures of Gimlet & Starky that I know will be forthcoming in the new fall season!! :pat:

Oh, dear.. :confused:
I feel shameful as in I know not of the details of Starky and Gimlet previously.
Ol' Starky lives in a Campbell's can though. High-falootin' fella that he is...always outdoing Gimlet. :roll:

That funky serial killer writing at the end there made me feel adored. Thanks, youuuuuu.

I do try to accommodate your every wish princess... the cereal killer writing was just for kids - Sugar Frosted Flakes - theyyyrrrrrrrr Great!! =)
but as for Gimlet and Starky there's a lot of background material here that needs fillin in. ;p
You'll have no problem 'cause yer bout the smartest gal East of the Mississippi and South of the Tennessee border but not including Starkyville. :laughing:
